Just a different make or brand ,none at all unless you put EP90 hypoid oil in ,never mind what you see on CSI about different coloured oils this is just a story so long as the spec is on the can ATF dex then no problem as i use a lot of dextron tipper hydraulic oil for rams in auto boxes as its the same spec as the ATF dextron and for what i pay for 5 litres i can buy 25 litres for the same price of dextron tipper oil and its got the same spec codes on as the ATF .but its oil colour and not red

2001 montero sport xls sport horn on my alarm how do i stop it i pulled the fuse but it is still goint

You need to determine if it's the horn or the alarm. My Montero (not Sport) had 3 horns. All 3 of which go off w/ the Alarm, but only one is connected to the horn on the steering wheel. I could not make mine go off w/o pulling the relay under the hood.

My spring was bad in the steering wheel. I was able to bypass the wire using instructions that I actually found on a Mitsubishi Forum. Link below:

My question is my 2002 Montero sport takes a while to shift does it mean I need a transmission

If transmission fluid level is up to par then you just might need tranny repair. And that is not cheap.

I have a 2001 Mitsubishi montero sport xls model. My check engine light is on and I have a code number of P0715...does anyone know what that code means?

The code indicates the Input Turbine shaft speed sensor is giving an erratic signal or there may be a mechanical transmission issue. I would go with a new sensor. Try rockauto.com to purchase a new sensor, much cheaper than the dealer. Also see sketch of location of the sensor on the tranny.

1999 Montero Sport XLS jerking into reverse. Error Code says change Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor

Hi Sc, The job is labour intensive and may solve the problem. I wonder if the fluid in the tranny has ever been replaced? It's meant to be replaced at least once a year. If it smells burned have it replaced. Ask your shop to check the gearbox and engine mountings and in the event of your vehicle having rear wheel drive, the universal joints on the prop shaft. 2001 Mitsubishi Montero XLS with 110K...check engine soon light came on while sitting idle ...IS THIS A CONCERN? CAR RUNS AS NORMAL

the computer is sensing something is wrong. If running normal, dont worry about it. Check your gas cap, cross threading it is a common "check engine".These lights are also called dummy lights. They are very sensetive.
