Rattle from the front at low speed, think is from brake pads

noise from:
anti rattle shims missing
Pads worn and low pad warning shim is working
master cylinder leak causing brakes to depress.

FRONT BRAKE PADS ARE LOOSE IN THE CALIPER. MAY HAVE SOME OF THE ANTI RATTLE CLIPS MISSING OR CHEAP PADS

Ive owned many of these, Id check for a Lose calliper or worn out brake pads , wore out ball joint ,, then look at the power steering tie rods,, then if nothing wrong there check to see if there's a broken coil, had the last one happen to thought it was the brakes, but was a broken coil and the rubber fell out at the top of it so was steel on steel, and finally check the front sway bar bushings these break too, Sorry to list so many different things but Ive ran into a lot of bugs over the years with my Impalas caprices and Road masters.. Squeaking CV Axle bearings... Bad CV axles are expected to click but they can also on rare occasions squeak... I know because I had that experience with a 1984 Sentra when doing a U or close turn only. Other parts that could theorically squeak at low speed, and depending on the condition and brake pad material.. would be warped disks or glazed brake pads... but at low turning speed, the CV Axle is more likely.

front brake pad hardware is worn out , causing pads to move around when jarred , applying brakes tightens pads and noise will go away

A loose pad could do it.
Check the pad anti-rattle clips again. The pads should be snug in the calipers. Its possible the new pads are not the exact same shape as the old ones.

I would suggest to check brake calipers and or brackets to make sure tight. Also check make sure pads are secure.

If the problem goes away when brake is applied, then a loose brake bad or missing pad clip is possible. Either way, you should have it inspected. A loose brake pad is not dangerous at all, but something else loose under there could be potentially catastrophic, such as a tie-rod end or a ball joint.

Often this fault is trigeered by poor rear brakes, normally the brake pads in the back, the system knows the brakes are low but compensates to the front to slow the car even at low speed, if the back calipers are pushed all the way out the ABS thinks the back brakes are defective so puts more to the front. Hope that makes sense.

so long as they are working thats a good sign and means the pump is ok, I would check the level of the brake pads back and front and also check the brake fluid level. failing all this then have the brakes bled through, to much air can also confuse the ABS, lastly and least likely the ABS module coud be going funy, they are pretty cheap and easy to swap over, but I am more inclined to think this is a mechanical fault and not electrical

p.s they have 4 sensors one on each wheel for the ABS, this wont make tha car brake like that but they could be dirty and sending the wrong signal to the module.

um, clunking brakes when braking after you repaired them? EMERGENCY PROCEDURE REQUIRED Have the car towed to a reputable shop. Your brake pads or calipers or wheel are coming apart. they could fail while driving. This is likely very serious. Hopefully, it is just the anti rattle clips not holding the pads in place but do not chance it. Also, consider a mobile mechanic
