Its called the rear glass latch or rear window latch. It would be available thru a dodge dealership, but obviously expensive. You may try a large parts store like Autozone or Pep Boyz. The third alternative is to call auto wreckers in your area. Its the same latch from 2000-2005 Liberty's. It isn't that hard to remove. The rear door panel needs to be removed, then the latch is attached with 2 bolts, and an electric cable.

I HAVE A 2009 FORD ESCAPE AND THE REAR HATCH WILL NOT OPEN FUSE IS GOOD. PLEASE HELP ME.

You need a latch assembly. Common problem. Open the hatch glass. Then try and lift up and push forward the plastic door panel around the spot where the glass closes into the hatch. It should give you enough room to see the latch assembly inside. Use a flashlight to look for the latch which is in the center bottom of the hatch. There is a white plastic lever. Push or pull on the lever and the door should open. The latch has a electric actuator that goes bad. Only replaced as a latch assembly.

Front Hood won't latch shut

Try lubricating the latch and check your cable inside and make sure its in the right position, the latch wont pop again by pulling cable unless you get a Philips screwdriver and push down on the latch where the hood shuts, when it shuts it pushes that spring loaded lever over and latches. Yours is not latching because either is rusted and sticking, cable is out of position causing it to pull all the time or the hood just isn't going down far enough to latch, possibly something in the way.

1998 Dodge ram van 3500 door will not open. power locks that cick on for open & close don't work

Not easy to find, incorporated in the lock itself, usually a little tag sticking out to pull/push, but it is normally on the side you can't get too, I take the lock out complete and then you know what you are working with, you can see how it all works that way!!

Driver window, motor groaning, window wont come back up, stuck down, tried to pull window up manually, wont budge. Is there a way to just get the window up? Dont care if it works anymore just need the...

You have to get inside door panel, push up on the center of the bottom of the window where it connects to the bar, and as you push up someone has to push the up button at the same time. If the bearings inside the motor are crushed, because they are plastic, you may have to push with both hands. Hope this helps you.

My rear hatch want open from the outside nor will the glass open. I had it checked and they said it wasn't getting power to the door but didn't know what the problem was.

I had the same trouble and found that I had to disconnect the glass hatch switch. It is probably defective like mine. I had to release the door by going from the inside and opening a little plastic door and open the whole hatch by using the emergency lever. Then I had to unscrew the plastic panel near the glass hatch and pry it apart just enough to disconnect the glass hatch switch. It is just a small connector that pulls apart. There are two connectors. One for the back wiper and then the glass hatch so make sure you disconnect the right one. This allows me to use the whole door but the glass hatch becomes useless unless you get a new switch.

Easy method to open a stuck Kia Rio door. Full credit to 'fastkia' for explaining how to open a stuck lock but after opening my lock by his method I found an easier way to do the job. You need a piece of straight wire (clothes hanger is good) and make a 3/4 inch square bend on one end. Wind down the window & push a tapered (plastic) wedge between the glass and the inside rubber to get a gap to work through. Poke the wire down beside the glass and pull up on the lever that is operated by the outside door handle. This is not the wire from the door handle but is the lever the wire connects to in the lock. While the lever is held up by your hook you can now pull up the locking button. Remove the wire from the door and everything works and it can be opened and closed as often as you like but don't press the button or use the key lock or it will be stuck again. The lever is normally held up by a small spring that has a sharp bend at one end and the spring will ALWAYS break at this bend. I used the same spring with a 'new' loop made from a section of paper clip to replace the old loop. Better than the original. No cost and it took less than 30 minutes

Pull the inside panel off ,and look at the latch itself, that latches the door, and look for the lever that locks the latch,it will be sticking out of the latch, and try and release the lock by moving the lever.
