You can install it yourself. Just make sure that you disconnect the battery before unhooking the old one and replacing it with the used one. Make sure you don't have any static electricity on you by touching a grounded piece of metal around you. Happy Motoring!!!

I believe that is a "flash" prom. So yes you will,I don't think the dealer can flash the prom without the car also tho, computer installed and ready to go. They plug in to the data connector.
The older computers had a prom that you could take out and put in the new one ,the new ones are more like a burnable cd disc.
I would call the dealer and ask before just taking the computer and vin number.

You have to take it to a dealer or send it out to be reprogrammed because the mileage has to be verified before it can be installed.

What would be the best place and price to get a new key for my 2000 lincoln LS, and would it be a chip key for that year or no ?

Yes it is a pats key so it will need to be programed. I would just go to the dealer. Ford or Lincoln dealers can do this.

Who would be the dealership for a saturn 2000 ls ,i bought it used and radio needs code

Saturn is a GM product, take it to any Chevy dealer and they should be able to help you. Although, if the previous owner left the car manual in the glove box then the factory unlock code should be there, unless they previous owner changed the code then the dealer will have to reset it.

87 Buick century...3.8 well maintained...had in garage for a month...all sensors have been verified..bought new computer and used old proms..still no resolve...finally took to dealer and they said a bad...

I doubt the ECM from a C body would work on your Century. I would probably buy a used computer and prom from a car exactly like yours. The prom is calibrated to the body style, engine, and trans. Each year and model can be different due to emissions standards.

Replaced computer on 2000 s10 now wont start. with junkyard one. tried this twice wont start is it vin locked

a lot of the later model GMs are VIN locked, you will have to have the dealer program the ECM to work, you have a transponder in the key that is programmed to the old computer.

Replacing ecm, dealer cost part plus labor average vs can i do it myself and save how much,is it worth it?

You didn't include year and model so an accurate answer isn't possible. You might consider buying one used from a junkyard; this will save 25-50% of the cost of a new one.

Lost key to a Lincoln ls, what to do?

You have to contact the dealer that you bought the car from or go to a lincoln dealer with the vin number and proof that you own the vehicle ( title, Registration, etc.) and they'll have to burn you a new key.

I removed the ECM from my 2001 Dodge Neon. Called around to junkyards to find the ECM cheaper and they are all telling me the first 3 numbers of serial number should be 529 and those are the numbers I...

NO, IT IS A 2001
WHAT THEY MEAN IS YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THE O.E.M. PART # THAT STARTS WITH 529 AND THEN THE LAST 2 DIGITS SHOULD BE: -AD or -AF or -AF or -AK
THATS THE INFO THEY NEED!!
