I've got - P0354 Ignition Coil D Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction in my Lexus 350 RX , 2007. Can I replace the part at my garage and what is that ? Thanks Vladimir

codes are OBDll and are available on line free. Every scan tool comes with booklet with codes in it. If the person scanning does not have booklet do not waste your time.

A P0354 code means that the ignition coil or coils are not functioning properly and that there is an electrical problem with them. The ignition coils are responsible for properly igniting the air-fuel mixture in the engine's combustion chambers.

replace the coil.

P0300 - Random multiple cylinder misfire
P0301 , 302 and 304 - Cyliners 1, 2 and 4 misfire
P0351 - Ignition coil A primary/secondary circuit malfunction
P0354 - Ignition coil D primary/secondary circuit malfunction

this code is saying you have a failing ignition coil..You will have to swap them and determine which one is failing...here is the procedure.. DTC P0354; RANDOM MISFIRE DETECTED, MISFIRE DETECTED, (CYLINDERS 1-8) IGNITION COIL PRIMARY CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION, (CYLINDERS 1-8)

G290076t1 : CHECK COIL FUNCTION BY SUBSTITUTION

1. Swap the suspect coil for a known good unit.
2. CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.

- Does the same DTC reoccur? The DTC will indicate if the same cylinder is misfiring. -> Yes
INSTALL a new coil. CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.

-> No

G290076t2 : CHECK THE IGNITION COIL SUPPLY VOLTAGE CIRCUIT

1. Disconnect the relevant ignition coil electrical connector(s), (PI02 to PI09).
2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
3. Make sure the ignition relay is energised.
4. Measure the voltage between:

- Is the resistance greater than 5 ohms? -> Yes
REPAIR the high resistance circuit. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.

SOUNDS LIKE AN IGNITION COIL PRIMARY OR SECONDARY MALFUNCTION! MAY NEED TO REPLACE THE COIL!

P0354 - Ignition Coil D Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction.

Description of DTC:
The ignition signal from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or Electronic Control Module(ECM) is sent to and amplified by the power transistor. The power transistor turns ON and OFF the ignition coil primary circuit. This ON/OFF operation induces the proper high voltage in the coil secondary circuit.

Symptoms:
- Lack/Loss of Power
- The engine may be harder to start
- Engine hesitation
- Check Engine Light On
- No spark

Possible Causes:
- Open or short in the ignition coil circuit
- Ignition coil circuit shorted to ground
- Ignition coil connector
- Damaged ignition coil
- Damaged PCM or ECM

Possible Solutions:
- If damage, repair ignition coil circuit
- Replace ignition coil
- Replace PCM or ECM


P0355 - Ignition Coil E Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction.

P0356 - Ignition Coil F Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction.

These codes are for a malfunctioning ignition coil/s.
P0351= ignition coil A primary/secondary circuit malfunction.
P0354= ignition coil D primary/secondary circuit malfunction.
visually check the coil packs for burn marks, damage, loose wire connectors, and the wire harness to each of the coils for damage. How long has this been happening? Has any work been done recently? Did the engine compartment recently get wet?
