It has 2 b geting power 2 the starter soliond check power line 2 the starter 4 a bare spot hiting another wire it hase 2 b the wires going 2 the starter someware disels run hot and melt plastic coating if 2 close

I just bought a 1985 F350 with a 6.9 disel engine, it has a four speed Manuel transmission, how can I find out what the transmission is, and what kind of oil it takes
contact Ford, give them the VIN number and they can tell you which transmission was originally installed. if it has been replaced after factory, you will need to examine the trans for identification numbers.

I had an 86 Ford Diesel and I might understand you. The glowplug timer needs a good connection. It might look clean, but if you undo the connection and reattach it, the timer will work unless it is burned out.
Without the timer the ignition is dead.
