Tried to reset oil life warning on 2008 Honda accord after oil change but it keeps coming back on. What can I do now?

1. Turn off the engine. Press and hold the SELECT/RESET button in the instrument panel and turn the ignition switch to run (one position before starting).
2. Hold the button for at least 10 seconds, until the indicator resets.
3. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

Resetting the Engine Oil Life Display if maintenance service is done by someone other than your dealer, reset the maintenance minder as
follows:

1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position.
2. Press the select/reset knob repeatedly until the engine oil life is displayed.
3. Press the select/reset knob for about 10 seconds. The engine oil life and the maintenance item code(s) will blink.
4. Press the select/reset knob for another 5 seconds. The maintenance item code(s) will disappear, and the engine oil life will reset to 100.

100% indicates the oil is new, or at least the oil life meter has been reset. It counts down as it gets closer to oil change time.

This is a service required warning light
B" indicates the following services are due:
- Change engine oil and filter, inspect brakes, check parking brake adjustment - Inspect : steering components, suspension components, rubber boots, brake lines, fuel lines, exhaust system, fluid levels and conditions "1" indicates: - Rotate tires

It means it's time for service---- to change engine oil -- check air filter and various maintence stuff--- if you have the owners manual it will show you what service to perfoam and to log it in the service book.
Also has intructions in the owners manual as to how to reset the service warning light-- kind of tricky but once you get it it's pretty simple.

Is the oil life low? If so scroll up the oil life and hold down the RESET knob until it goes out. If the oil life is high, then service is needed.

Honda Accord 1998-09 To reset MAINT REQ’D light, press and hold select/reset button on right side of instrument panel. Turn ignition on and hold until the light goes out.

On the right of your dash is a pair of buttons, one for selecting/changing the odometer and the other for cycling from MPH to KMH and back.
Turn the key on.
Push the select button until your display indicated the remaining oil life percentage. When it is displayed press and HOLD the select button until it begins to flash. Once it starts flashing release the button and press and hold it again. The display will clear and if you release the button and cycle through the display with the select button you will see oil life 100%. Good luck and this should reset the oil life.

IF THE KEY IN THE HOLE DOESN'T RESET THE MAINTENANCE LIGHT WRITE DOWN THE MILAGE THE OLD FASHION WAY. TRY IT AGAIN LATER TO GET THE LIGHT OFF- IT IS DISTRACTING.

On a 2008, thurn the key to the ACC position. Hold down the reset button for about 10sec on the dash until the whole display starts flashing.
When the whole display is flashing, hold down the reset button again for about 10sec. the OIL LIFE will go to 100%.

Turn ignition on,need not running.Hold the reset button in until oil life xxx% blinking ,let go the button.Then hold it in again until it shows oil life 100%.Done

to reset the oil monitoring system to 100% , press SET control to access the system check functions , press and release the SET control to display OIL CHNG XXX% HOLD SET NEW , press and hold the SET control for 2 seconds to display OIL CHANGE SET TO 100% , oil life is now reset . thank you !
