There is a piece inside that is prone to breaking. It makes the starter and flywheel connect
On the 3 different engines (4 cyl & both V6s) on LH side (radiator side) below the exhaust manifold. All have two14mm bolts mounting them to the engine. ILLUSTRATION:
You will be finding the starter motor at the mounting point of Engine & transmission case towards the bottom, above the crank case. you will able to access to this motor from bottom.
2.7 engine located above the starter. You need to remove the starter outherwise its fairly easy.
The 2.4 & 3.5 engine, its located in the front next to the timing belt, a little more complicated to to install.
