I have a 2005 forester XT (south Africa). The car has a jerkyness at constant speed and when pressing the gas pedal, you can feel the constant jerks. Had a diagnostic check done at subaru, but no fault codes. Car has 213 000km. Can this be one of the o2 sensors or maybe the maf sensor? Problem getting worse.

At 213K km, there's wear in the valve guides (== more oil consumption), the O2 sensor(s) are getting tired, and the plug wires and plugs are old. All these can cause the jerkiness.

Changing the plug wires would be a good start, followed by the plugs, unless thus has been done. A tired O2 sensor usually sets the occasional 420 error code.

You could also try resetting the ECU. What this does is place it into a learning mode, and the jerkiness may disappear for a while. If it does, it means the ECU is running the engine around the edge conditions. Replacing the O2 sensor may help, but don't do it unless you get an error code.

Also, check for exhaust leaks on the "donut" connection after the catalytic converter. Even a small leak can cause the O2 sensor to report "off" conditions.

SOURCE: Cylinder 1 misfire on my subaru!!

What you should check first is the spark plug for the #1 cylinder and see if there is a white film on it this would be a sign of a coolant leak which would cause a problem with the O2 sensor

SOURCE: what does error code 55 mean for Subaru leagcy 2005

This is a communication error with the BIU (body integrated unit). Need to take to the dealer, possible that the ECU needs to be replaced to fix this issue. It should be covered under the federal emmission wrty.

Why is my 2005 subaru forester is hard to start?

Your car is fuel injected, so pushing the accelerator pedal won't actually do anything. That's from back in the days when cars had carburetors and that was the only way to get them started. But I'm wondering if your mechanic is talking about the Air/Fuel Ratio sensor, that will cause a drive-ability concern. Also, you can have your mechanic check to see if your car is equipped with and EGR system, if you have a problem with the EGR valve sticking open it will do exactly what your describing. I hope this info helps!

Why cant my 2005 dodge stratuss pick up speed when i press on gas pedal

Sounds like a transmission problem, specifically that perhaps the transmission fluid is low if your truck has an automatic transmission, or the clutch is slipping terribly if it has a manual transmission.
- You need to include this information on such questions.

ooh also ck clutch master cyl fluid level (not brake master cyl) for correct level if low u got a leaky slave cyl

When driving at about 30 mph occasionally the drive seems to slip and then catch. car is 2005 1.6 fsi with 80k on clock

the gearbox is a computer controlled auto with 4th lock up (O/D) and should, if driven very carefully, change from fluid drive to mechanical drive at about 30 mph.to check transmision carry out the following.
from standstill,put car in drive,no gas,and let the car reach max speed(about 30 ish)then.
from standstill using 1/3 gas pedal (do not move gas foot)let the car accelerate to max speed.
lastly, put car in drive and floor gas pedal(make sure you are alone)then
drive as economically as you can, the gearshift patern will then adjust to your driving style(takes about 50 miles)You will feel the car go from fluid to mechanical drive as a kind of slight drop in revs then ...engage.
assuming you have checked fluid level first of course....

No there has not been complaint's like with the Toyota's. Toyota is involved with Subaru on a few thing's , But toyota uses Subaru technology not the other way around. And the accelerator style levers are different from Subaru's. Sorry to hear about your accident. Have a great day.
