This will sometimes work; either with help or alone, depending on the location of the latch, press the hatch in firmly and repeatedly near the latch with the flat hand while trying to turn the key or operating the remote release. If you can get it open, don't close it again until you have sprayed some lubricant into the latch mechanism; not WD-40 since this is good for loosening things but evaporates fairly quickly so provides only temporary help and the problem may return soon.
Check fuses in both fuse boxes
Niece had the same problem, under the hood fuse fixed it, pulled it out and put it back and and she was good to go!! Nothing but issues with this car, I don't even want her to have it anymore...the locks work when u put the car in drive and park, but when you want to use the buttons on the door it don't work, her car kept shutting off, she got a new battery, and it's now doing it again!! But she is also a little above half overheating...taking it to shop tomorrow
