ABS,Brake light "on" and speedometer not working correctly

ABS and BRAKE light stuck "on". Also, Tach works 100% but speedometer only kicks on when speed reaches 15-18mph or so. All other gauges normal.

Also feels like shifting from 2nd to 3rd, and 3rd to 4th have become challenging for this badass engine. Please help

I have that problem in my 98 dakota with the 5.2. I haven't got it fixed and now the speedometer doesn't work till 50 now, but i was reading bout it and I heard to replace the speed sensor in your rear differential. I'm going to try this weekend to see if it works.

Same issues. ABS and brake lights started coming on and staying on at start up. Speedometer begins working when trans shifts into 2nd. Tach is ok. Might just be me but trans. feels like shifting is different. All this began at exactly the same time.

Hi there, abs and brake light, the fluid in master cylinder might be low . speedometer-there is a speed sensor on the side of the transmission (driver side) probably stripped out a little bit either replace to whole sensor or replace the plastic gear part thats on the sensor. shifting- have the front band adjusted (located on driver side behind bellhousing) the torque specs are 72 ft\lbs on the adjusting screw and back off 2 and a half turns. directions, first loosen the lock nut (3\4 wrench) about 6 or 7 turns. secondly, adjust the adjustment screw as i discribed earlier. thirdly, hold the adjustment screw in place as you tighten the lock nut. the lower kickdown band for 1st and reverse are inside the oil pan of the tranny. you have to drain the oil out, but if you already had a fluid change lately then i wouldn't worry about the lower band

2011 Honda CRV brake, ABS, Seat Belt,& Anti skid feature lights blinking on the dash. The speedometer, tach, dash item info are not working. Engine check showed the battery and alternator are fine.

you will need to plug the car with a diagnostic computer.

Can you check your brake light. See either they are stuck on or not working at all.
If that fault is there. then all other lights will come on too.
Change the brake switch...

My ABS and Brake light goes on alot. Also sometimes my gages will go up and down for no reason. That is what they call the GM shuffel. It happens to alot of GM vehicles.
I never had a problem with loosing power or the tranny stuck in second gear. Sounds electrical, if no one can help here, get that thing to a garage before your hurt.

Abs light on dash, brake lite on dash, speedometer not working, jumping in and out of overdrive.

You have multiple problems. Make sure the brake fluid is at the proper level. Most of the time when I see this and the fluid is correct with no other mechanical issues it turns out there is a short due to an after market alarm that was installed incorrectly. Make sure you don't have a caliper sticking on one of the wheels which will cause the ABS and Brake Lights to come on. You'll also want to make sure your emergency brake isn't stuck. The ABS module malfunctioning would explain the ABS light and the Brake Light but not the speedometer issue. I have given you a lot of things to check because you need to be sure those are all working correctly. Because you added the Speedometer issue this is most likely going to be a short somewhere in the circuit or a possible issue with the ECM. It is possible a faulty ABS module could cause this, before you go get a new one though, try locating one in a local Junk yard and switch it out. If the lights go out you know that is the problem and you can go get a new one, I don't recommend using junk yard ABS parts for anything other than testing. With those lights on you can go to Auto Zone or Advance auto and ask them to connect the code reader to the vehicle and get a better idea of where you need to look.

Uncle put new brake pads on vehicle (he worked on front and back brakes) and now the speedometer doesn't work, the abs light is on, check engine light, and the break light is on. what could have happened ....

Check for disconnected ABS sensors. The front sensors in the front are located next to the axle shafts. The rear sensor is located on the rear differential housing itself on top, in the middle. The ABS is monitored by the computer for performance. The ABS kicks on when the vehicle comes from a certain speed to a dead stop, keeping the wheels from locking up. That could be the reason for the speedometer not working. Or it could be a bad speed sensor. Both can also trigger the check engine light because it is monitored by the computer. The brake light usually comes on due to low fluid level. It can trigger the light, but not be low enough to impact brake performance. I hope this helps.
