I have a 1991Oldsmobile 88. While driving the car will suddenly cut off,after sitting a while the car will crank up then suddenly sud off again. I have check the fuel pump, gas filter, crank senor, the coil pack and the car still does the same thing can anyone help???

hav u replaced the fuel pump--some cars with old pumps are sensitive to turns--git a fuel pressure test done to confirm

Sounds like an intermittent in the ignition circuit, could be a faulty ignition switch. (not the lock cylinder, the actual electrical switch)

Sounds like you have a injector leaking you can try looking at each one when you crank it and you may be able to spot the leak.

Is the Service Engine Soon (or Check Engine) light illuminated on the instrument panel? If so, then have someone pull the codes and post them back here. Autozone will do this for you at no cost.Caution: don't purchase any parts after reading the codes on their recommendation! If no codes, then suspect either a bad crankshaft sensor or camshaft sensor. There are other possibilities too, but these are primary. I have seen MANY bad crank sensors do exactly what your describe without setting a code.

does the engine crank over? try letting the truck sit for 10-15 minutes and try again.

check battery and connections. if all are good check all fuses under the hood and dash

Sounds like a vaccum problem, but I am not sure. It is not vapor locking on you is it? Maybe your fuel pump? A lot of possibilities.

When is wouldn't start back up, did it at least crank or nothing at all.
