When going slowly over a bump the front end of my explorer makes a squeaking noise, kind of sounds like an old mattress squeak. Does it more when it is a little warmer, does not do it as much when it is colder out. From what I have been reading I think I need bushings lubricated. Please help. No difference in the way the Explorer rides.

SOURCE: Loud squeaking noise from front end wheel or axle area.

It can be from both the struts and any piece of frame or body that has a rubber mount.(most likely struts and A arms making the noise)

SOURCE: Front end Chevy cobalt loud squeak?!

If you have the time, take the vehicle to an autoshop of your choice, and ask them to grease all fittings on the front end. My car did the exact same thing, it was the ball joints. You may need a new ball joint, but being a 2009, I highly doubt it unless its been in an accident or something. There are grease fittings on the front, I believe there should be at least 5, maybe more, but the sound you are experiencing is the equivalant to a pogo stick if I'm correct. Hope that helps.

SOURCE: creaking noise in front end 1997 explorer

I had the same problem. It would squeak kinda bad when I pull in my driveway. My cv boots were good. I found the ball joints were getting wore out, as well as the shocks were over 10 yrs old. I replaced the ball joints and shocks. I know my squeaks stopped, I personally believe it was the shocks that fixed my squeaking.

Squeaking noise coming from front end of 93

check the front brakes as the warning tab can make a squeaking noise when the brakes may need to be replaced. also if this is a 4x4 it could be a u joint that is making a noise. sometimes a dry tire bead sounds like a squeak or hub cap. just some things to check out.

2005 stratus squeaks in front end over bumps and car shakes when slowing from speeds of 35mph and over

The noise would usually be the strut or the control arm bushings. The vibration could also be the component making the noise, or warped brake rotors.

Have a 1997 Mountaineer a the front makes this loud squeaking sound when turning/running over speed bumps or any time front suspension is working

It can be bushings in the front sway rods or the control arms. The tie-rod ends or even ball-joint sockets can make noise if they are dry.

Squeaking sound from shock absorbers

ball joints won't squeak like that; they make a popping noise when they're bad. it is very common for shocks to get water in them and start squeaking, and it's usually a horrible screeching squeak. The only way to get rid of the squeak is to change out the shocks. Hope this helped.

Creaking noise in front end 1997 explorer

Sounds like it is your CV axles.  Turn the wheel one direction, right or left, and check just behind the wheels to see if your CV boot is cracked or ripped (the boot is a black, rubber accordion looking thing).  If it is cracked or ripped, I would say that is definitely the problem.

Hit a pot hole and now the front of car is squeaking. 2003 Alero.

Could be the wheel cover (if equipped) git a little bent against the wheel itself. Try removing cover and see if sound is gone.
