The throttle body angle is the throttle butterfly opening angle, the signal is sent to the ecm from a potentiometer on the throttle body and is compared to the throttle pedal sensor if both signals are not in unison then you get that fault code you dont say what model you have! if its got a cable operated throttle pedal the pedal sensor is also on the throttle body. so you should clean the butterfly and housing using a solvent and check the wiring and connectors but at that year 99 to 2001 they had problems with throttle bodies lots had to be replaced. so recon throttle body may be best option

SOLUTION for x-type Transmission fault error
I had this very same problem. My 02 x-type would get transmission fault code and then shut down into limp mode. If I turned the key off, shifted gears a few times and waited I could start up again and sometimes drive for several miles before the code came back. GOOD NEWS, I thought maybe the vechicle was overheating the tranny or something like that and then after it cooled down I could drive some more. I discovered that my gas station had switched to the 10% ethanol addative about the same time I started experiencing "strange" mechanical issues. I decided to try switching my gas to the non-ethanol gas from a Phillips 66 station that advertised 100% REAL GAS. The problems mysteriously dissappeared!!!! Remember that you MUST use PREIUM gas as per the MFR. Well the 02 3.0 can't handle the 10%ethenol in it's gas. Something else you can try if you can't find REAL GAS is to use the OCTANE boost from your local auto parts store. Pay close attention to which brand you buy since some can harm your fule system. As a side note; I also own an 04 s-type with a 3.0 under the hood. It looks different from my 3.0 and has no problem running on the ethenol added gasoline. However after the horrible mechanical experience I had with the ethenol in the x-type, I now use 100% real gas in both. I have been transmission fault free for 5 months now.

SOURCE: my jaguar 2001 x type jag has a warning on
The DSC light stands for Dynamic Skid Control or in lawmen's terms Traction Control. If the light stays on you have a problem with this system. You will need to have it diagnosed by someone who has the tools and expertise to find the problem. More than likely you are going to have to take it to a Jaguar dealer.

change the pedal sensor...thrttle is fine and will function properly as soon as its changed..make sure once you change it you turn the key to position two for 5 seconds then turn it back to position one ,then wait ten more seconds and turn the key to postion two for 5 seconds again to allow the ecu to calibrate. And make sure you unplug the neg terminal to do the install...once reconnected follow the above procedure...the crank the car.
