I have a 2002 F250. The horn will start blowing on its own...I have to bang the steering wheel at the horn location to shut it off. It happens when I'm driving or sometimes when I hit the auto lock remote.

There is a "clock spring" that allows current to get from your horn button, through the steering wheel. Due to the spinning of the steerring wheel. This is a wound up flex circuit, and they can break. Sounds like yours has an issue. It's located behind the steering wheel and air bag.
Hi, assuming you have cruise controls on the steering wheel, I would say your clockspring has failed. The contacts for the horn must be crossed with the cruise contacts. Replacement requires removal of the steering wheel (special tool) and airbag, etc. Please let me know if you would like instructions.
If the alarm makes the horn work, then it is not the relay. It is the horn contact or slip ring. You need to take the cover off the steering wheel center. But this could be dangerous due to air bags. Disconnect battery first. Steering wheel might have to come off. Recommend a shop because most people don't have the tools for pulling steering wheel.
replace the horn relay;or the horn button on the steering wheel is grounded and energizing the horn. any maintenance involving the steering wheel can be dangerous becaus of the air bag. if you just want to stop the horn, remove the relay, probably located in the fuse box under the hood. check the manual for location, but if your state has a safety inspection it will need to be fixed before the inspection is due
I would look somewhere around the radiator. Near the front grill. Be sure to test horn by "jumping" power/or negative to horn. Maybe loose wire somewhere like at steering wheel? Some horns are connected to positive and need negative from steering wheel to honk.
the horn is under the he right front fenderwell and it must be removed after removing the right front wheel lug nuts and the wheel itself .To gain access to the horn.
1st check the related horn electrec circuit components.
Check the horn relay, it is located under the dash near the fuse box. I believe it is on a white box. You may need to purchase a new relay or there could be a problem with the horn button in the steering wheel/column. Check relay first.
Disconnect the battery. Remove the 2 "Torx" screws that hold the horn pad/air bag assembly on to the wheel (there may be 2 small trim covers that you may need to remove to see the "Torx" screws. Remove the horn/air bag assembly & disconnect it at where it connects. You will now see a really large nut. Remove it, and bang back towards the dash, both sides, to pop the steering wheel off.
You do not need a puller.
NOTE: Do NOT turn the circular object that is right behind the steering wheel. This is the "clock spring". It is black & yellow, and has a lot of writing on it. If you turn it, you may damage it when you put it all back together and then drive it.
