Why did my headlights on my 2006 Passat stopped working at the same time? My driver side headlight quit working before but i was messing with it and put new bulb in, worked for two or three weeks now both headlights out? I have high beam, and 1 daylight running light in the passenger side? Anyone else?

SOURCE: burned out headlight/bulb bmw 1991 325i 2dr

It's a bulb replacement. If it's anything similar to my Audi, there is a cover on the back of the headlight housing that you pop off. Then you can reach in, pull the wire connector off the bulb, and unclip a metal retainer over the bulb, and pull the bulb out. Installation of the new one is the reverse. Just be SURE not to touch the glass part of the bulb. Skin oils can cause a halogen bulb to burn very hot and burn out very quickly. If you do touch the glass, wipe it gently but thoroughly on a cotton cloth to clean it off before you install it.

SOURCE: 2006 Trailblazer Headlight Replacement

There are not two rods, there are two clips one under fender weild and one right above the light on top of the cover. Pull up on these two clips and pull the light forward a couple of inches and remove the dust cover. You have to take the air filter cover off to be able to reach in and replace the light. It took me about 10 min to figure these out but hope it helps out.

SOURCE: replace passenger side low beam bulb in a 2003 lincoln aviator

Open hood and remove the radiator site shield and the air delector on top of the headlamp assembly. You will then see 2 clips that you will pull up and then remove the headlamp assembly.

I have 2006 passat and the low beam light are to low. I changed the light bulb and still low. I try to leveling up and didn't work. What wrong? Do I miss some power or earth?

Dim headlights are almost always caused by a corroded ground connection. But sometimes it can be caused by corrosion inside the headlight connector.

2006 Volkswagon Beetle, drivers side headlight, high beam not working

Instructions
    • Turn the headlight switch on and inspect the headlights. Make sure to check both low- and high-beam lights, and then note the position of the bulb in the headlight assembly. Low-beams are in the top cavity of the assembly and high-beams are in the lower cavity.
    • 2Turn off the headlight switch and then remove the keys from the ignition.
    • 3
    • Open the hood and locate the seam to the headlight assembly and the side fender. Locate the headlight assembly release lever and push in on it slightly to unlock it and then pull it all the way up until it stops.
    • 4Place a blanket or pillow on the ground in front of the headlight assembly. Push the assembly outward from behind with one hand while being ready to catch the assembly with the other. The New Beetles use an adhesive sealant to protect the back of the headlights from exposure to moisture, so you'll have to give the assembly a push from behind.
    • 5Pull the wire harness plugs off from both the high- and low-beam blades of the respective bulbs.
    • 6Place the assembly on the blanket or pillow. Release the wire clip to the faulty headlight and then remove the headlight bulb.
    • 7Open the package of the new H1 bulb replacement without touching the glass portion of the bulb with your bare skin. Oils in human skin will damage the bulb. Handle it only by the metal base of the bulb insert.
    • 8Insert the new bulb in the appropriate headlight-assembly cavity and reattach the bulb retaining clip to lock the bulb in place.
    • 9Lift the assembly up and plug the wire harness plugs back into the respective blades of the bulbs.
    • 10Push the headlight assembly into its cavity, but before locking it in place, check the lights by turning on the headlight switch.

Changing headlight on 2006 VW passat

Hello, to change the headlight on your passat, follow this steps:

1. Pull off the air intake cover, and remove the intake mounting bolt and set the intake hose aside,(passenger side only).

2. Twist off the protective cover from the back of the headlight assembly. Press the tab to pull off the electrical connector.

3. Turn the bulb socket counter clockwise to unlatch, and then slip it away from the assembly.

4. Turn the old bulb counter clockwise to release from the socket .Install the new bulb by turning it clockwise. Hold the plastic base of the new bulb when installing . Touching the glass can cause it to prematurely fail.

5. Insert the module and turn it clockwise to lock it in the assembly. Reattach the electrical connector and twist the protective rubber cover unto the back of the assembly .

6. Reattach the intake hose (passenger side only) and tighten the bolt. Snap the plastic intake cover back on.

Thanks

i actually had the same problem, what happened to me is the ballast got wet and stopped working. so what i would do is try the ballast from your drivers side and try it on the passengers side. i hope that this helps. if you have anymore questions, let me know.

Headlights

turn on your low beams and look at the passenger side. as a general rule the low beam lights are the ones on the far side of the headlight bucket, not on the inside
