I had the same problem with My 1990 F150 300 6cylinder 4x4.....I cahnged all the same things you did, finally I sprayed a can of Gumout through the throttle body and it worked and ran great. Now I add fuel injector cleaner to the gas and a regular clean with the gumout and the problem has'nt come back. Good Luck to you and hope it works!

I've had as similar problem with my '90 f150 5.0l, i would clean out the IAV(idle air valve) on the side of the throtlebody with some carb cleaner. If that doesn't work you might have to repalce the whole IAV assembly.

I have a 2004 VW Jetta. A few days ago my car after sitting in the hot sun all day idled very roughly then died at stop signs. The next morning it was fine, but the same thing happened in the afternoon. ...

run fault codes and look for a fuel supply sensor/servo failure. The heat is affecting the fuel system and is causing a fuel vapour lock or is over pressuring the injectors.

Try to unplug the mass airflow sensor and start it. It will idle higher but should run fine. If it works then you need a MAF sensor. Be sure you have an OBDII code puller to clear the computer when done

Ran out of gas and now she won't run!

i would say that you have a bad fuel pump or if you have a carb on it the float inside the carb is stuck check these and i'm sure you will find it's one of these.
