It has a throttle position sensor is right on the throttle body some trucks in this model came with electronic throttle is a two part throttle one is in the pedal the second in throttle body you have to use a scanner to find if it is the problem i had couple of experiences where the vacum lines next to the battery were broken they're made of hard plastic also look in the intake for cracked rubber hoses or spitted ends most likely that's the case hoping you find this helpful i thank you for your time

Cold nature does not have any excelration until warmed up

There is a system called the "cold start sequence". This is triggered by a temperature sensor. Either the sensor is bad or the controls it triggers is bad. The sensor is inexpensive, but the other part is not.

01 GMC 1500 v8 z71 ...missing & not shifting on

The transmission has been electronically controlled for several years.
The miss could cause the knock sensor to set a code, but the sensor will not cause the miss. The knock sensor signals the computer and the computer tries to cut back on ignition timing to stop the knock. The sensor can set a code if it is a spark knock or something mechanical.

Put in a new battery it runs good but when I come to a stop it dies, want idle?

TPS,throttle position sensor, idle air valve, both @ throttlebody ! replace them both, also change the AIR & FUEL FILTERS ! ONE MORE THING, REPLACE THE EGR VALVE, they go bad, get all cloogged up, with carbon ! you would'nt believe it ! your OXYGEN SENSOR , whens the last time you changed that, DO IT !

My 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee cuts off while driving

Sounds a whole lot like a dirty or malfuncitionig idle air control valve. A coil would generally show up as a miss under load or high rpm, crank sensors generally work or they dont, only sometimes giving you a miss, but that would be all the time at any rpm. Computer, I doubt for too many reasons to list. Could also be related to a bad throttle position sensor or a very slight vacuum leak.

the crankshaft position sensor controls spark and if faulty would give the symptons you have described you need to get this checked first

After running for about 5 minute car loses excelration and starts to cut off

I had a friend that had the same problem with his Olds, the guy who fixed it said it was a bad cold pack. I`m not sure what that is but you might check into it. Hope this helps, Dave
