If you've noticed hard starting in the past few days, it could be that your alternator or battery has gone bad. Goodluck

The theft light on the dash of my 1998 ford explorer xlt is now blinking fast and lights and radio power on and when I turn key it starts to go but won't completely turn over

(1) The transponder key is bad and needs to be replaced
OR
(2) the antenna ring is damage around the ignition lock

If the transponder chip is bad or Damage the car will not Start

the Transponder system is a PATS 2

My taurus wont start or even turn over battery connections all ok. my theft light is blinking faster than normal could this be a reason for not starting? if so what do i do or try? im frustrated......

yes the fast blinking theft light indicates that theft mode is activated. you wont be able to start the vehicle until you have the keys reprogrammed at your local ford dealer.

Starter ok no blown fuse. all lights working but it wont start. anti theft light blinking fast os soon as you turn it to on. what is the problem.

it is the microchip on your key.. you have to reset the key by sticking it into your ignition and turn it to the run position for 5 mins. at this time the light should stop blinking then turn your key to the off position for 1 sec. repeat six times then your last attempt the car would start guarantee.... notice: as you turn the key to run position the light would blink rapidly for 5mins.. right when it stops turn to the off position for 1 sec.. remember six times..

98 ford explorer wont start theft light on while cranking, no fuel presure at fuel rail

It sounds like the vehicle is in theft mode, did you use a different key? Does the theft light blink really fast with the key off?If the passive anti-theft system has been activated the computer will have to be reset in order to get the vehicle running again.

Car still won't start

The taurus is equipped with what is called a PATS (passive anti theft) that wont let the car start until it recognizes the key in the ignition, some things to check, first when you put the key in and turn the car to run (not start) does the theft light blink fast in the dash or is there a red on light on the dash that starts blinking? if so it is a PATS problem, the only ones I know of that can program keys are dealers, if the car wont turn over it probably is not a fuel pressure issue, the most common thing would be the PATS keys either unprogrammed or somthing wrong with the module. hope this helps
