I have an acura cl 1997 and my car wont start due to factory alarm...i dont have the remote to the alarm, and i cant find the reset button for. the alarm. i tried to take off the positive to the battery and put it back on but this did nothing..

I think there is a little plug on the console by the shifter. Take a key and put it in the slot once you get the plug off. This should unlock the trans/start mode. Your remote should re-set the security also.
If its an aftermarket alarm check the manual to adjust the sensor sensitivity. If you don't have the manual check the alarm's manufacture website or contact them. Some times the shock sensor is in the antenna itself. There'll be a button saying something like, HI, MID, LOW. Set the sensitivity to MID or medium sensitivity.
Try disconnecting the battery cable again, but leave it off for at least 10 minutes. That will reset the computer, not sure if it will help w/ theft system though. Good Luck, Also try locking and unlocking the driver door w/ the key (not a remote) this may work.
