I just replaced the battery in my 2003 audi a4 quattro. Now when I turn on the car the light for the ESP system wont turn off. In the owners manual it tells me that I have to reset the engine management system but there are no instructions on how to do that. Also the keyless entry feature is no longer functioning. I tried to reprogram using the directions in the owners manual but it didn't work. I'm out of ideas please help!

Try taking the car to an Audi dealer to reprogram the key.In some cases,depending on the country it was imported from ,it may take several attempts at programming to get it right.Your Audi dealer should do this at no charge.As for removing the battery,always clamp an alternate 12v source to the car cables so the vehicle does not lose a 12v source when changing batteries.These are complicated cars.You need to recode some systems after total loss of 12v.Once again the dealers will help.

My ESP light comes on and off while i am driving AUDI A4 2001 model. Please assist
The ESP system means the Electronic Stability Program. If the ESP lights on the dashboard permanently the ESP system is faulty. You must access the ESP Electronic Control Unit (ECU) memory for pull out all DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes), using diagnostic equipment connected to the data link connector of the car. Then you will be full informed about bad pieces (e.g.: front right wheel abs sensor interrupted, ...). After bad pieces replacement you will be able to erase all faults memored by ESP ECU, in other words reset the ESP system and turn off the warning lamp on dashboard.

Audi a4 3.0 quattro...the esp light comes and my car dies!!!!
Sometimes the issue is with the mechanical vacuum pump off to the side of the ABS/ESP module. It looks like a round silver canister. This issue is all over Google with many possibilities but the one I copied is most common.

Hi. I have an 03 A4 Quattro, have a problem with an ESP light coming on 5 or 10 mins into a journey. Any idea what the prob might be?
this sounds like a stupid question but is the tread on your tires the same all the way around? on a quattro if the ecm sees different wheel speeds while going down the road it will think your wheels are slipping. or is one of you tires flat or very low? you could also have a bad wheel speed sensor. good luck hope that helps.
