The drivers side door isn't depressing the connection pin - I built up a layer of duck tape on the swinging door to meet the black rubber on the door frame

The sensor in the seatbelt is definatly not working, Sounds like an expensive repair for just a chime,
as a joke I would find the chime and unhook it. But seriously you might be able to find the wiring under the seat for the seatbelt and unplug it depending on the year but after 20 minutes of research all seatbelt replacements ive found say they come without electronic sensor anyway.
Good luck and hope I helped you out some....
I tried my best!

Disable seatbelt chimes, will not go off, since driver door been replaced.

Sounds like the door switch is not switching or not connected. Sometimes the switch is external in the door jamb/closing area, sometimes it is part of the door catch. Maybe check if the door light on the dash stays on, also if the interior light works on door setting.

Reseat chip my chime on seatbelts wont stop

Check under your seat and see if the plug, somehow, got unpluged.
Sometimes when you shove something under your seat, the monitor wire becomes dislodged from the seat belt.

There is another legitimate and easy way to disable seat belt chime. Radio is supposed to stay on til door opens. That is correct

Disable passenger seatbelt chime

Hi Candy, I'm glad to help!

Candy, I'm not sure why you want to disable the pass seat belt chime, maybe its going off even with no one in the seat. BUT, the only way to stop it would be to plug the seat belt into the buckle. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Candy

Seatbelt chime

There is a switch in the buckle that senses when it is fastened. This might be stuck or the sensor that tells if the seat is occupied is bad.

My seatbelt on my 1999 Chevy 2500 bell keeps ringing even after I put my seat belt on and the light stays on. Can I remove a fuse to stop the annoying ringing?

I would find the wiring harness that connects to that seatbelt connector, most likely under the seat and unplug it. If that circuit is fused it isn't specified in the fuse descriptions. Alternatively you can listen to the chime and trace the location of the chime unit by ear, probably buried in the dash and disconnect it, and then pull the warning lamp.

Warning light came on this morning, figure of a man with the seatbelt. What does this indicate?

This is the seatbelt indicator, its not seeing that your seatbelt is fastened ifthe light stays on and the chime keeps going off.

There is a switch inthe seatbelt that closes when the seatbelt is buckled, and if not, thelight stays on and the chime goes off.

There are a couple reasons thiscould happen. It could be a wiring issue going to the seatbelt buckle,or more likely the buckle itself. Your truck is pretty new, so if youare under 36,000 miles the repair would normally be covered underwarranty.

Also, I suggest check the Repair Manual for Jeep-WK-Grand-Cherokee-Section-08O-Restraints (page 473 and next, for Seat Belt)

Hope helps with this (remember rated this) Good luck.
