SOURCE: location of a sensor

Replacing a CPS can be easy or hard. On the 2002 Gallant 2.4, it is located behind the timing belts. Removal of the main pulley, the covers and the belts is required. This isn't as hard as it sounds and is essentially the same as changing the timing belts.

Locate crankshaft sensor on 1996 crystler New yorker (where is the crank shaft found on a 1996 Crystler NewYorker?

The crank shaft is actually an internal mechanical part of the engine (see last picture) however the crank shaft position sensor uses through what they call a "hall effect" with a componant inside the transmission. The crank shaft turns which in turn turns the componant inside the transmission. Below are a couple of pictures of the location of the crankshaft position sensor as well as what the plug looks like so you know you are removing the correct part. Hope this helps.....

Need to know where crank sensor is located.

Hello. The crank shaft sensor is located in the front of the motor on the crank pulley or it may be part of the damper pulley. It is hard to see,... you will need to get under the car to see it but it will be right in that area near the bottom of the engine.

The crank shaft sensor is located on the front of the engine under the timing cover. In order to replace it you will need to remove the timing belt.

Need to know where the crank shaft sensor is located

That engine has 2 crank position sensors. One is near the starter and bolts to the engine block. The other is behind the crank pulley/balancer. I have to say I have not
replaced many of those. What makes you think it need replacement? Any codes stored you
know of?

My alternator belt broke i fixd it now my car wont start it cranks but sounds funny

I am not sure where the crank position sensor is on your car but when the alternator belt broke on my Buick it trashed the crank sensor that is located next to the crank shaft pulley. The computer needs the crank senor to know the position of the crank shaft. If the sensor is bad the car will not start.
