SOURCE: power steering

the power steering pump is mounted on the front of the motor, the pump has a lid which you unscrew to add fluid. if you cant find the pump follow the serpentine belt until it goes around the pump (large Pulley) with about a four or so inch long neck. Make sure you buy the fluid made for your vehicle.

SOURCE: I'am replacing water pump 2006

you can take the power steering pump off without removing the fluid lines. Just remove the mounting bolts and push the pump aside (but don't let it tip and spill). I'm assuming you have the 3.8L engine. Instructions are pasted below.

3.8L Engine

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2. Drain the engine coolant.
  3. Remove or disconnect the following:

Negative battery cable. Drive belt Water pump pulley Power steering pump and move it aside Water pump

To install:
  1. Install or connect the following:

Water pump using a new gasket and torque the long bolts to 25 ft. lbs. (34 Nm) and the short bolts to 16 ft. lbs. (22 Nm) Water pump pulley and torque the bolts to 115 inch lbs. (13 Nm) Power steering pump and torque the bolts to 25 ft. lbs. (34 Nm) Drive belt Negative battery cable
  2. Fill the cooling system.
  3. Start the vehicle and check for leaks, repair if necessary.

2007 Pontiac Grand Prix. The pulley on power steering came off along with belt. Can pulley be put back, or do I need the whole pump?

Question edited to add full make and model, plus spelling (pullEy).
Question moved to sub category.

Yes, they are sold without a pulley. You have lost the bolt from the end that holds the pulley on. You can see in the images here.

On a '06 Pontaic Gran Prix - I cannot get the bottom right bolt out to remove water pump. How do i move idler pulley?

To get that last bolt out you need to move the power steering pump out of the way. Just remove the two bolts holding the PS pump and push it aside. You don't have to remove the pump hoses you just need to move it an inch towards the firewall.

How do i remove power steering pulley to take out water pump

You don't need to remove the pulley. There are 2 bolts that hold the PS steering pump on the block. Remove them and move the pump back an inch. You don't need to remove the pulley or hoses from the pump.
