Hard starting can have a lot of reasons, but basics include needing a tune up, leaking fuel injectors or ignition module problem, low compression, weak electrical system (battery/alternator)-if we had more information like it starts well when cold but not hot, or it runs bad when it does run, you'd get a lot more specific conjectures.
If it runs well when you finally get it going, timing is not your issue, but it not starting easily yet running good is a clue that possibly your fuel injector(s) are leaking fuel into the cylinder(s) after it has been shut down-possibly leaking o-rings, or a bad fuel pressure regulator another possibility is the crank sensor or ignition module. when they get hot, cause this-again, more information needed-does it start better cold or hot?
