You need to get a Haynes or Chilton's repair manual for those directions. Now as far as your problem is concerned it's not a sensor, it's a kinked brake line, bad Brake Compensator or bad Caliper. The compensator is the part that comes off the Brake booster and has all the brake lines attached to it, usually rectangle shaped. Now the problem could be an air bubble that got into the system if the brake fluid was low but that usually leads to mushy or soft brakes. And yes, it is possible the problem could be the ABS module itself but eliminate the other possible problems first.
ALL OF THE CALIPERS WERE REPLACED WHEN THE NEW PADS AND SHOES WERE REPLACED AND THE SYSTEM WAS BLED OUT AND NEW BRAKE FLUID ADDED!
THE WEIRD THING IS THAT THIS SENSOR WILL COME ON EVEN IF THE BRAKES AREN'T BEING APPLIED AND MOSTLY IN A CURVE BUT ALSO JUST GOING STRAIGHT DOWN THE ROAD! SOME TIMES WHEN YOU APPLY THE BRAKES THEY WORK GREAT AND THE NEXT TIME THEY WILL DO A GRAP AND RELEASE TYPE ACTION! BUT AS SOON AS THE ABS LIGHT COMES ON THE CAR DRIVES AND BREAKES JUST FINE!
The problem is the ABS module then. The reason the light is coming on is the sensor in the module that detects G-Forces to adjust brake pressure on the calipers for safer braking is malfunctioning. replace the ABS Modulator.
