Have a fault scan done (OBII scan) It sounds like a TPS (Throttle Positioning Switch) or Cranksahft trigger but have scan done ti verify instead of throwing parts at it. Any good parts store (Autozone, Advance, etc..) do the scans FREE

2003 Subaru Forester with manual transmission and 170K miles has clunking, jerking feeling when making sharp turns after vehicle is warm.

chances are the temp of the vehicle has nothing to do with it what your probly hearing is a bad cv-axle either turn the wheel all the way to either side and take a look under the car there is a rubber boot buy the wheel if its cracked or torn the grease inside will be thrown out when driving and eventually crack the inside cage.

After replacing battery OBD shows computer not

It usually take a few days and a few dozen miles for all the rediness monitors to reset. The car must go through different types of drive patterns during this time, including stop and go traffic, steady highway driving, a few quick accelerations, and quick stops.

2001 subaru forester 225000 kms..how long do they typically last?

Provided the vehicle has been serviced regulary and had good quality oil and filters, theres no reason the car shouldn't get 400,000+ kms. Check its service history, and its oil consumption.
