The rear lift glass/hatch does not work in my 2006 Jeep Liberty. I replaced the battery and ever since then, the rear hatch release has not worked. The glass was up when battery was replaced. All the fuses seem good and the regular door locks work fine. Any ideas?
I'm gonna try and redo or undo what I did. Going to disconnect battery with reatch open, then shut it all up. Then after the battery is disconnected for a bit and computer cleared, I'll reconnect it. Maybe something in the BCM didn't read the circuit since it was open when the battery was installed and doesn't know its there? Worth a shot, so I'll try it in the few days and let ya know. Re: The rear lift glass/hatch does not work in my 2006...
Test the lead to the lock actuator see if u get voltage (u will have to chase wire back to fuse box to find short) , if u get voltage then the lock has gone bad or is binding on something.
I should've added, there is no voltage. I did chase wire back and found no shorts or binding. Could it be a computer issue maybe?I should've added, there is no voltage. I did chase wire back and found no shorts or binding. Could it be a computer issue maybe?

Hi, I'm Alejo Tambutto. There are a few possible reasons why the rear lift glass on your 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee is not closing properly. Here are some steps you can take to fix the problem:
Check the glass switch: Make sure the glass switch is in the correct position and is not stuck. If it's stuck, try cleaning it with electrical contact cleaner.
Check the latch mechanism: Check the latch mechanism to make sure it is not obstructed or damaged. If there are obstructions, remove the objects and try to close the glass again. If the mechanism is damaged, it may need to be replaced.
Check Electrical Wires: Check the electrical wires that supply power to the rear window lift mechanism. If any of the wires are loose or damaged, it can cause problems closing the glass. If you find any problems with the cables, you may need to repair or replace them.
Seek Professional Help: If you are unable to identify the problem or are not comfortable doing the repairs yourself, it is best to seek the help of a professional mechanic. An experienced mechanic can diagnose the problem and offer a proper solution to repair the rear lift on your 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
It's important to address this issue as soon as possible, as a rear lift glass that won't close completely can be a safety risk to you and your passengers.
what are you saying.? (must be in UK)
no keys, the keybob is dead. have 2 fobs, is best.... got 2?
change the battery in it yet, CR2032 ?
all doors dead.?
or just the fob fails to open the rear hatch and the glass button
on the rear of car, right center for glass open is dead.?
try to tell what works on car too.
like can you drive car a night?
all else AOK????????
There is no keyhole and switch on the rear hatch in Jeep liberty.
You can control the hatch by remote key and window/door switch on the driver seat side.
I don't know why they make like this, it's inconvenience.
I have the same problem. Try pressing the rear hatch opener button on your remote. Just press it once. Try shutting the glass section after that. For mine, it's caused when you open the rear door without first pressing the release button on the remote. Now I make sure I press the button to open it first.
Mine did this too....the latch kept getting stuck. If you put the key in the ignition and unlock the power doors, pull on the gate door (don't open it, just enough to release the latch), and it should come out so the hatch will latch.
first check fuses if all good remove back hatch panel find wiper motor remove plug . turn the ignition key to on position turn on rear wiper now test wiper plug for power if no power replace wiper motor
