There are several panels in the trunk. Open the one panel closest to the bulb you have to replace.
Most bulbs you have to push in and twist counter clockwise to remove it.
Hope this helps.

Rear defrost stays on when car is shut off in 1996 impala ss

The rear defro does not have power going to it with the key off. This means there is somehow a short to power to this switch, if you can remove the switch check for power at the connection. If there is power there is a short, I will send you a schematic of the circuit.

Right brake light works off and on. When I put on turn signal all lights on that side gop off in rear. This is on a 1962 impala ss

you have a bad ground for that tail light, trace the wires and see where the ground wire attatches to the body.

How to remove tail light from Impala SS (2007)

Open your trunk, You should see big wing nuts or some type of nut holding the the carpet against where the light housing is. take the wings nuts off which is about 3-4 and the light assembly will pull out from the opposite side. The whole housing will come out. It's not just the lens.

1996 chevrolet impala ss tail lights will not work with switch, they will turn on with the alarm. already replaced light switch

could be a wire crossed from the alarm system or a faulty switch use a test light to determine power to the switch itself and although it may not be the issue check and ensure all the fuses are good ...i do think at this point its a faulty light switch
