How do you change the oil on a 2011 sonata?

Changing the oil in a Hyundai Sonata is an easy task that should be performed every 3,000 miles. Follo the below steps to change the oil on your Hyundai Sonata:
1) Ensure the car is parked on a flat surface. Place a drain pan under the engine. Locate the oil pan directly under the engine. The oil pan will be at the very bottom. Now, unscrew the drain plug at the front of the oil pan with a socket wrench. Allow all the oil to drain out into the oil pan. Tighten the drain plug back into the oil pan with a socket wrench.
2) Locate the oil filter in front of the engine. There will be a cut-out in the protective shield where the oil filter is located. Unscrew the oil filter with a strap wrench. Allow the oil to drain into the oil pan. Place the old filter in with the waste oil.
3) Fill the oil filter with fresh engine oil. Screw the filter on to the filter housing by hand. Do not wrench tighten, which could strip the threads of the filter or filter housing. Open the hood for access to the engine compartment. Unscrew the oil cap on the top of the engine.
4) Pour in three quarts of engine oil. Pull the engine oil dipstick out of the dipstick tube and wipe it clean. Push the dipstick back into the dipstick tube. Pull back out and look at the engine oil level. If the oil on the dipstick does not stop between the two marks on the dipstick, pour in a half quart of oil and check the level again. Do not overfill.
5) Start the car and allow it to run for few minutes. Turn the car off and check the oil level once again. Add another half quart of oil if necessary. Ensure the oil cap is back on the engine and the hood is closed. Hope this helps and if you need any parts for your sonata, this site looks like it has cheap prices, free shipping and great reviews http://www.buyautoparts.com/carmodels/Hyundai/Sonata.html

HOW TO CHANGE OIL PAN GASKET?

Changing your oil pan gasket is pretty easy. Just messy. What you first do, is of course make sure your can get to it safely by jacking it up. Now once you can get to it safely. Then next step in where the oil pan is, you will see a plug. Get your self a big pan for oil to drain into. Any auto store has them, and there cheep. Just them you need a pan to drain your oil. Now, put the pan on the ground under your car and right under the bolt that you will be unscrewing to drain the oil. Now that the pan is under that, use a socket or wrench and unscrew oil pan bolt, and drain all your oil into pan that is on ground under it. (note, best to let car cool a lot before doing this, so oil is cool and you do not burn yourself from any hot oil)

Ok, now that your oil is all drained out into pan, next step is to get a socket and socket driver and match up with all the bolts you see going around the oil pan. You will be unscrewing all of them around the whole oil pan. After all bolts are out ( store the bolts in like a little plastic cup to not loose them. Now, you will pull oil pan down and now is the fun part. Cleaning around where oil pan went, and on the oil pan itself you will be cleaning that up good around edges, What your doing is making sure the old gasket is off and if parts are stuck or broken, making sure that is all off. Once you get the oil pan edges and the part where it goes up is all clean, then you are going to out the new oil pan gasket on the oil pan itself, making sure it is on good, straight, level you know really make sure it is flush. Now, get a couple bolts ready and your socket ready, then your going to slowly put the oil pan back up, with of course the new gasket on it and hold it up in place and then put a bolt on at one end hand tight for now, then another other end hand tight. Sometimes if you have a small jack or few 2 by 4's to help hold it up in place helps. Once you get it up in place a couple bolts on, then start putting all the bolts back on, but only hand tight. Once all are on, now slowly with socket, start tightening them down in a circular motion. Meaning top left corner, bottom left corner, top left corner right, bottom left corner right. Like going around the world when tweaking them down, so not to warp one area before all are snug together. Now, clean up all your stuff. lower car back down.

DO NOT FORGET TO PUT PLUG BACK IN OIL PAN AND DON'T FORGET TO PUT OIL BACK IN CAR. You can use the same oil you took out and put back in to engine with a funnel. But I Always tell people, to dispose of old oil, and put new oil in. Check you dip stick to make sure at full line. Now start car, let run for about 15 minutes, look under for any leaks. IF none drive around for about 10 minutes, then turn off car, look underneath after about 30 minutes of car cooling to make sure no oil leak. If no leaks, congratulations you just properly changed A oil pan gasket. Thanks Mike

How to change oil in 2008 mazda 6

Get enough space from undeneath the car. Get a wrench ( most japs need a 17.. or 19mm) a plastic bowl of at least 5-6 lt capacity, get underneath the car, unscrew the bolt that is at the very bottom end of the engine, carefully at the last twisting mm's not to remove it quickly cause you'll make a mess, let the old oil drain to the bowl, get up, unscrew the top oil cap of the engine, let air get in and provide equal pressure to drain the oil completely, and when it happens, screw to bottom bolt back, tighten it and make sure the copper sealing ring is in good condition, ( otherwise change with new one to avoid leaks), fill with new oil fro above, taking filling indications every while, to make sure you filled the correct amount of oil, start the engine and wait untill the oil pressure warning red light turns off, turn off the engine, fill to the desired point, close the cap, and ...........you're done!!!

Where is the oil pan and what does it look like? I am trying to instal an oil pan heater.

The bottom most part of the engine is the oil pan. When the oil is changed the drain screw is unscrewed from the oil pan. If you need more help try to google oil pan and see if you can find pictures.
Maybe if you are not a car repair man, you should find a friend or relative to do this.

Audi tt 3.2 quattro oil filter change

The insert or cartridge filters are easy to change..You must jack up the front of the car, remove the engine belly pan. in the front of the motor there is a black cylindrical housing for the oil filter cartridge..On the bottom is a cap that just screws off..Unscrew the cap, take it off, slide the old insert off, then slide the new one on..Screw the cap back on and voila! you are finished..If the insert came with a new rubber o-ring, make sure to replace the old one on the cap.

I need to change the oil but i dont know where the sump is and i dont have a manual for the car

The sump is inside the oil pan and irrelevant to your need. The oil pan has a drain plug and is at the lowest part, usually on the side, so if you can get under the engine and look up at the usually flat bottom, there will be what may look like a bolt head on the side of the pan at the lower edge. Unscrew that and the oil will come out, so have a pan under it.
