What engine dose your stratus have

  • Anonymous Aug 02, 2008

ok just making sure it wasn't an odd V6 car. Replacing the plugs wires coil and injectors covers the biggest part. Pretty much not many other things it could be. You need to check and se if the injector on cylinder 3 is getting a signal normally checked with a noid light or test light if it blinks the signal is good if not its either wiring or the PCM and last internal engine problems which would require a compression test to determine if there is a problem internally

My Dodge stratus acts like it is out of gas

Hi Judy, I'm AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair

Judy, I'm not sure which engine you have, but if you have the 2.5 liter engine. Then change the complete distributor. However, if you have some other engine, then I need to know what all the repair shop has done before answering this question. Because, there are a lot of things that can cause this type of issue. Go to my auto repair website and let me know what engine you have. Go to website here: http://www.bigasautorepair.com/

I changed the oil in my 1999 dodge Stratus last night and this morning it lost all power and the engine seized but there is no oil leak. I tried to turn the crank but it won't turn. Looking for possible...

Sorry that happened, if you didn't start the motor right after you changed the oil, it's that the any oil that was left in the motor bearings would have drained out leaving them dry. Sounds like you spun a bearing when it started. You could pull the oil pan and look at the connecting rod ends, if any are blue, the motors ruined. I'd start looking for a new motor.

1999 stratus battery ok,sometimes it won't turn over, then other times it just fires up

If you mean sometimes the started cranks the engine but other times the it will not crank the engine you likely need a new starter solenoid, unfortunately they don't seem to sell them separately for the Stratus, so you will need to replace the entire starter.

Hope this helps.

1999 dodge stratus belt noise

Your belt may be worn & slipping. Check on the inside of belt for lost belt v grooves. If O.K., you may have a a bearing starting to sieze i.e. on alternator, power stearing, air conditioner condenser, or idler pulley. You will be able to check this by slackening belt & spinning each pulley. Good luck & Merry Christmas!

My 2004 dodge stratus died at a 4-way stop. No indication this would happen. Upon my son looking at it, we noticed it was very low on oil. Someone suggested there is a sensor that cuts off engine if low on...

Disconnect your battery and let sit for about 30 minutes. Reconnect battery, turn your key to the "on" position and wait about 7 seconds before you try to start. Listen for the hum of the fuel pump with the key on. If you don't hear anything, check fuses and wires going to fuel pump for current..
