All timing is electronic controlled by the PCM and can not be off... the only thing that can be off is the timing chain or belt... better get that checked out asap!

when a car starts and suddenly it stops running is because the timing is out of regulation. It could happens too when the platina inside distributor is damaged or separation is too long between them. To solve this problem you have to uncap the distributor getting off the platinas and if they are bad to change them. If it is timing, you get the first embolo candle and reorganize timing; this process is not difficulted if you know the timing of the car. You have to see also the possition of the hammer inside the distributor in order to set the right timing.
