Car would not start battery flat. Had new battery fitted after 24hrs same problem battery drained.Have had alternater checked but thats ok.Don't know what to do now. Any help would be appreciated

Are the battery cables tighly fit to the battery posts?
And do they fit snugly?
Mine kept coming shaking loose when I drove and when I parked the car for a while, dead battery when I came out.
The cables that connect to the battery posts did not fit well.

check alternator connections. with voltmeter and car at rest try battery voltage, as this is (i assume) new battery, it should show above 13v reading. now, start the car and check voltage at idle, it should be same or slighty higher than original reading, now, press accellerator to about 1500 to 2000rpm, reading shuld be higher, in range between 13.6v up to 14.4v, if reading is lower, your alternator is not charging! if description and voltages are correct,

remove battery from the car, leave for 24hrs and then measure voltage (within 0.1 of the volt minimum) make note of the reading, wait for 24hrs and measure again, if there was no drop in voltage, this meant that battery is ok as well.

this will point to either, your voltage regulator or leak somewhere in installation draining the power from the battery. check all possible terminals, especialloy under the dashboard on driver side and close to console on passenger side. check boot lights and sensors.

its obvious there is a drain somewhere was this problem present before the battery and alternator change,if so suspect one of the new parts .but if not then start by removing the negative terminal and place a test light across the connection the test light might light up due to small power uses like clock in vehicle. but if its very bright then start pulling fuses until it goes out or dims down find what that fuse goes to and you have you culprit.

you have a faulty alternater there is a speed sensor in the alternator that is linked to the power steering if the alternater isnt charging the steering wont work either replace the alternater and all should be ok

change or charge the battery and make sure you install the correct alternator capable of supplying the correct amps your car needs otherwise it wont charge correctly/ check your electrical wiring it must be grounded somewhere or the connection is incorrect thats why ur battery drains...

This procedure usually works:
·Check the battery cable connections:
Make sure the negative cable makes a good ground connection at the battery and (preferably) at the engine. Make sure the positive cable, makes a good connection at the battery and at the starter.

·Check the battery the simple way, like this:
Turn on the headlights, then try to start the car.If the headlights do not dim or go out, then the battery is likely ok.

·Check the starter and solenoid:
If the wiring looks ok, then look at the starter solenoid for a good connection, and proper voltage at the starter(10 volts minimum while cranking).
If the starter spins and no crank, the problem is most likely the Solenoid's pinion gear is stuck.
Have someone hit (not too hard) the starter while you try to start the car. This usually works by dislodging a stuck pinion gear.
·Make a simple test of the alternator:
If you can, somehow get the engine running, measure the voltage at the battery. It should be at least 13.6 volts to properly charge the battery.

sounds like your alternater is not fixed. Your car ran off of battery power till you drained it. Complete alternater repair and charge battery. You can check if your alternater works by starting car and disconnect positive cable if it stays running your alternate is fixed. Shut car off and replace positive cable.

voltage regulator or bad alternater in the mornings check to see if the alternater is warm before you start it if it is the alternater is draining your battery

u may have parasitic load what that is when like somethin on the car stays on even if u shut everything off causing to drain the battery
