On a 2001 dodge intrepid with a 2.7, whether you put it into drive or reverse it does nothing...this started when drivin on day it went into a limp mode...got it home and parked and when i later tried to...

limp mode as in computer limp in mode?check the trans fluid is it dark looking?, Need more info. Did you have the trans fluid changed recently? The reason i ask is when you change the trans fluid way after its do the new trans fluid is detergent type and fresh fluid can put the transmission in shock(Trans Shock). This can wipe out a transmission in 5 miles or so seen it too many times. Let me know how it goes. Lee

99 jaguar transmission code p1722

This code is an indication that the transmission has excessive slippage, the code is for the input and output turbine speed sensors, based on what i know of this problem the trans has a mechanical problem, that would be low fluid pressure or worn out forward clutches, make sure the trans fluid is not low, if it is ok you will need to have the trans torn down for inspection..

'99 silverado 4x4,new trans,no gears.

I don't see you did anything wrong per your description.
With the engine off, check the level of the transmission oil, replace the dipstick, start the truck and recheck the fluid level, level should drop. This will indicate the front pump is working.

Next, with truck running, put transmission into any gear, then return to park position. Do you hear any ratcheting noise.

Let me know.

I need to change transmission fluid.

so? what is your problem then? if you want to know what type of fluid you are getting to put, pull out the trans dipstick, clean it, and on the bottom part of the stick you will find the type of trans fluid you have to use.

Your car has no transmission dip stick, you will have to have the dealer service the trans, it requires special tools to fill trans.
