Fuel Filter Cleaning * The fuel filteris a device that filters out dirt and other particles from your fuel so itburns cleanly. During a tune up, a mechanic will either clean the fuel filterby using a special liquid or replace it entirely depending on its condition. Spark Plugs and Wires * The spark plugsare located in each cylinder of your engine and provide the initial spark thatit uses to burn fuel. The spark plugs can get worn out over time, however, andthis can lead to a delay in your engine turnover or even misfires. Hence, sparkplugs are usually checked and replaced in a tune up. The spark plug wires areoften also replaced; these wires take electricity from the distributor and giveit to the spark plugs to make the sparks. Air Filter Change * Air filters canvary in shape and , but they all serve the same function: to keep dirty andother particles out of your engine chamber. All engines need air to compress inorder to run, and this is brought in via an air intake and filtered by the airfilter's membrane. The filter is usually changed during a tune up. Belt Checks and Replacement * The engine usesa variety of rubber belts to run, including timing belts and transmissionbelts. During a tune up, a mechanic will check them for cracks or general wearand tear to determine whether or not they need to be replaced. If a belthappens to snap while you're driving, the engine will cease immediately, soit's important that they are checked regularly and replaced if necessary. Oil and Fluids * Car engines usea number of fluids to run properly, including power-steering fluid andtransmission fluid. During a tune up your mechanic will usually refill everyfluid, including the washer fluid, which is used by your windshield wipers tokeep your windshield clean. A mechanic will also most likely change the oil, which is the lifeblood of a car's engine and provides a lubricant for all ofthe gears in the engine to turn.

For just a standard maintenance tune up you will want:
Oil and filter
Plugs and wires
Air filter
If you want to get really nitty gritty you can get a transmission filter and some tranny fluid.
And I usually run a can of "Sea Foam" through the gas tank for cleaning the injectors

If you go into Advance, or Auto Zone they will get everything I listed above for you. Be sure when doing the plugs and wires that you replace one at a time "wire and plug" if you pull them all off at the same time you won't know where they go when you are ready to put the new ones on.

The only thing to be weary is make sure to as if your vehicle has an exterior trans filter. If not dont worry about the trans filter unless you are mechanically inclined and can take the pan off the transmission and replace the gasket, drain the fluid etc. The internal filters and a flush should be done by a mechanic.

Need to remove driver seat cushion yukon xl 2001

Well I believe that only upholstery can fix that but the whole seat comes off. What seems to be the problem? It would be cheaper, only if your budget is tight, if you get another one from a pick a part near you.

I have a 2001 yukon and am wanting to change out the radio. Is the radio going to need any extra parts due to anti theft security?

Depending on what radio you install you will need an installation kit so you can plug in your OEM wiring and not have to splice and decipher factory wiring. Check with Best Buy or Crutchfields' (online)

PO171 System to lean left bank. Lean means either not enough fuel or to much air. Might have an injector problem. Check plugs on that side, see what color the white porcelain part is.

What services are done at the 100k tune up on a 2001 gmc yukon?

Probably oil change and filter, transmission flush, filter, and new fluid. Also plugs, wires, and distributer rebuild. They will probably check the steering components.
