If the car is heating up, and if it leaks water. then sounds like the water pump. Pumps almost always fail by leaking water/antifreeze.
If the leak is coming from the head gasket, then water already went into the engine, I would think.
Observe the leak, and you can easily pinpoint what it is. You can isolate to the head gasket, or the water pump.

I have a 2003 Mazda protege 4cylinder it leaks coolant when the car is running really bad but not when it turned off. It overheats really quick is it my water pump or thermostat

It could be coming from any number of places. The best thing to do is get it up on a hoist while running and look at it from underneath to see if you can spot where it is coming from. Check the radiator for an injury on both side and check the hoses diligently first. Head-gaskets and thermostat gaskets are next, then expansion or 'freeze plugs' are next. Most likely, because it only leaks when running, it's a high percentage rate that your leak is coming from your water pumps by-pass hole. Good luck!

Well my 1995 ford contour 2.0 gl 5 speed is blowing out water areound my Expansion Tank Cap and it over heats after it dose that what would you suggest i know its not the theromostst please help thank

Probably a leaking head gasket, allowing pressure from a cylinder to get into the cooling system. The only cure is to replace the head gasket - radiator stop-leak compounds will NOT work!

So, I literally just bought a 2004 Buick LeSabre and have just arrived home. It was about a 40mi drive and now the car is over heating and spraying radiator fluid everywhere!! Bought it from my father in...

Wow, thats going to be a sticky situation.
I would first let the father-in-law know what happened in case the car has some serious damage. You may need to sell it back to him.
It could be a sticky thermostat, failed water pump, or various other causes. Even a blown head gasket.

Oil is mixing with water but does not have a head gasket problem any ideas please

I don't mean to sound sceptical, but how have you concluded there is not any head gasket problem? Do you mean a compression test is good? Because that will not show up any leak between the water jacket and the oil passages, via the head gasket joint. Only a pinhole leak is needed because water is, well, watery.
Has a radiator leak down test been done? This will show up water jacket leaks (there may be more than one), and give you some idea of the size.

I don't know your engine well, but I cannot think of another ready way for water to get in the oil or v-v, except a cracked block, which is rare. I have read of a leaky intake manifold gasket causing it, but I can't picture that one myself.

1991 mazda 323 1.6 16 valves manual. the car has a rough idle, a miss. burn greyish smoke and water comes from the exhaust. it overheats quickly and the radiater loses water with no trace of where it...

You have either blown out the head gasket or cracked the cylinder head itself. You will need to remove the cylinder head and at a minimum replace the head gasket. Inspect head surface after dis-assembly to verfiy that no cracking is present.

  • SOUNDS LIKE YOU NEED A HEAD JOB. CRACKED HEAD OR NEED A HEAD GASKET. CHECK YOUR ENGINE OIL IF IT HAS WATER IN IT OR IF WATER IS LEAKING OUT OF TAIL MUFFLER ITS A CRACKED HEAD. IF NOT ITS HEAD GASKET. ANOTHER THING WHICH COULD BE IS FIRST MAKE SURE THAT THE WATER PUMP IS NOT LEAKING WATER CUZ IF IT IS THEN IT WILL BE THAT. SOMETIMES RUNNING YOUR VEHICLE WITH A BROKE WATER PUMP HEATS UP ENGINE CAUSING HEADS TO CRACK WHEN FILLING WITH WATER BUT USUALLY THE HEAD GASKET GOES FIRST. HOPE THIS HELPS.

1993 Subaru Legacy Sedan 2.2 liter engine, has and over heating problem. Replaced thermostat, replaced water pump, and replaced radiator with all new. Still over heating! Any ideas??

Usually the main reason for a Subaru to over heat is a blown head gasket. If it is pushing fluid out through the overflow bottle. I would suspect a blown head gasket.

Jeep Wrangler leaking coolant

IT IS THE WATER-PUMP. PLEASE DON'T WAIT FOR IT TO OVER-HEAT BECAUSE THEN IT WILL BE TOO LATE, AND VERY COSTLY. PRICE A HEAD-GASKET JOB AND COMPARE IT TO THE COST OF A WATER PUMP. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE. BEST OF LUCK.
