SOURCE: 2005 Chrysler town and country abs light on, but
We own a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica (3.8 litre) and currently have the same problem. This has happened at least 2 other times on our vehicle. Our trouble code was for a faulty ABS wheel sensor, and after searching the internet I found A LOT of other Pacifica owners had the same problem. The first time this happened to us, it was covered under the Chrysler warranty. The second time, it cost about $275 to repair. This is something that only a Chrysler / Dodge dealer can diagnose and repair. At first, we went to Firestone and they preceded to replace the brake pads, rotors, flushed the master cylinder and nothing they did seemed to work. Finally, I went to the Chrysler dealer and they immediately diagnosed the problem and fixed it. I am not sure if the computer will actually report a trouble code for the ABS problem or not. I will warn you that even though the brakes seem fine, eventually they WILL fail on you and you will have SIGNIFICANTLY reduced stopping power. Our light went on while we were down the interstate at 70 mph, and let me tell you that was a very scary situation with me, wife and two kids with NO CONTROL over how fast we could stop. Take your vehicle to the dealer and get fixed, it's not worth risking an accident. Good luck!
