P1756 = Mid presure malfunction, governor, sensor, etc.. When the governor sensor malfunctions it can cause damage to the clutches. Change out the governor & solonoid. Below is a link for a good video regarding repair of this problem.

It is definately the governor pressure solenoid on the valve body. You CAN do this project yourself, I am getting a pan drain kit before I do this so I can save my fluid, as I'll need to be doing a front seal soon, and it'll make tranny work so much easier, and reuse the newer fluid. I'll also do a filter, the tranducer, band adjustment and shift kit while I am in there, all good videos on Youtube to do the work from, I have 175K on mine, and maybe this way with a complete fluid changeout after the leak is fixed, I'll make it past 200K before I need a new trans.:) Hope this helps someone out.:)
Also, I also just got back from a road trip when I picked up this problem, and the tranny had been topped off a quart low just before the trip. It started out feeling like I had brakes dragging or pulling a small trailer, but it was starting out in second gear instead from a stop, and not downshifting at stops. I checked fluid levels in "N" after warming up the fluid on a short drive and topped off the fluid again (losing about a cup a week now out the front seal), but the normal shifting never came back after adding a cup, driving, then re-measuring level in tranny, then adding a cup again and then driving again, kinda crept up on it to see if was improving, but to no avail, gotta get parts coming to do the work.:)
