Hello, here is a vacuum diagram for a vintage big block mustang with no emissions, it will work on a 2 barrel or a 4 barrel carburetor, if you run your lines like this and get rid of the other BS it will run sooo much better, also you can delete the blue stripe wire if you have an aftermarket air cleaner.

Tune ups on a regular basis are a must. A couple times a year check the plugs and replace if they are a little bit dirty. Also air filter. Keep the carb in tip top shape, tuned and rebuilt as necessary. Install an aftermarket vacuum guage in the dash where it is easily readable. They come marked with ranges to indicate good or poor mileage. It just plugs into the vacuum lines on the intake or carb. The more you keep it in the good range the better the mileage. Driving habits will be your best bet,keeping off the 4 barrel. Hope this helps.
