The fuel pump shut-off switch is located in the front passenger's foot well, behind the kick panel. The reset button for the fuel pump shut-off switch is accessible through an opening in the kick panel.

is there a fuel shut - zjlimited_867.jpg

Use the following procedure to reset the fuel pump shut-off switch.
1. Turn the ignition to the OFF position.
2. Check the fuel system for leaks.
3. If no fuel leak is apparent, reset the fuel pump shut-off switch by pushing in, i.e. down on the reset button.
4. Turn the ignition to the ON position. Pause for a few seconds and return the key to the OFF position.
5. Make a further check for leaks in the fuel system.

Hope this helps.

A safety feature in case of a role over. engine stalled with ignition still on , broken fuel line, pump still spraying fuel all over the place. To stop this the pump wiring circuit is tied to the oil pressure switch. So if you are having starting problems after the rollover check this out .

2001 Ford Escape. Sometimes, after sitting 4 or 5 hours, engine turns but won't start. After a short wait and trying again it starts right up. It hasn't shut down while driving, yet. Plugged in a diag

Try turning the key on for two seconds, don't turn to the start position yet, then turn it off, then back on for two seconds, then try to start it. It sounds like you are losing fuel pressure and by cycling the key, you will be re-pressurizing the system. It's usually caused by a faulty fuel pressure regulator that is not holding pressure properly.
This will not set a diagnostic code usually, and on the rare occasion it does, the code will read as a "lean" problem.......not enough fuel

2001 ford escape tried to **** a truck out of a field it shut down by passed fuel shut off now not getting a spark?

I would recommend diagnosing the problem correctly. You need to start with a full computer network scan. Who knows what was knocked loose by the sudden shock of running out of rope or chain when trying to [pull roughly] a truck out of a field. A computer scan will most likely point you in the correct direction. Diagnosis by parts replacement can get VERY EXPENSIVE, VERY QUICKLY. We don't even know at this point if maybe the theft system has been triggered and has shut the fuel and ignition down.
Since we are on that subject.... it is not necessary to "bypass" the inertia fuel shutoff switch if it has been tripped. All you have to do is RESET it.

Where is the fuel filter on my 2001 ford escape 3.0?

On the 2005 it is actually part of the fuel pump in the tank. However, there is a fuel filter located under the vehicle, passenger side by the gas tank.

Power window failure on 2002 Ford Escape

I have a 2001 Ford Escape. My driver window doesn't alway roll up when I push the button. As silly as it sounds, when the driver window won't come up, I roll down the front passenger window and then push the buttons for both front windows. The driver window comes up then. I've been doing this for about 6 mos. so eventually it will probably fail. But it is a short time fix.
