My husband is traveling and I need to put power steering fluid in our 1990 Porsche 928. I could not find the Manual in the car. Where do I put the fluid? Which reservoir is the correct one? Thanks!

There is a belt on the front of the engine that drives the various items like alternator, water pump, air conditioner and power steering pump-the power steering pump is the only accessory that has a reservior with a cap on it-look for it and turn the cap counter clockwise, it has a small dipstick on it. fill the reservior to the full level using the dipstick.

I cant find were the power steering going on a 1999 porsche boxster

The power steering fluid reservoir is located near the top center in the engine compartment (see this thread for a picture: http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/41098-where-to-top-up-power-steering-fluid/). Your owners manual will show you how to gain access to the engine compartment.

No power to brake light switch

There is a fuse, check it. The location and fuse number are in the owners manual. If you don't have one try ebay for used one or try this site.

Drove fine 4 days ago when last driven however cannot get my manual transmission Porsche 928 to go into any gear even though clutch is depressed all the way? Is this a clutch fluid issue?

It may be. Some models use cable system. Check first the hood if you have a reservoir. This could also mean that you need to replace the clutch disc.

[email protected] i just bought a 1983 porsche model 928, i need to know where the transmission dipstick is located. and what is the best method for replacing the fluid.

There is no dipstick on these transmissions and refilling must be done from beneath the vehicle on the side of the transmission.

You will need to remove the pan to drain the fluid.

In any event if you have one of these cars I suggest you join one of the Porsche 928 forums where you will get a wealth of helpful information as, I assume you know, these cars are very expensive to maintain properly.

Here is a useful link and covers the transmission fluid. I would not attempt this unless the car was on a hoist.

Power steering makes a noise when turning left

Might have low fluid, check that first, next if fluid is not a problem, its prolly the unit itself that needs replacing, if you are loosing fluid, check to see if its the lines or the housing. Lines are easy to replace and cheap

Adding automatic transmission fluid to Porsche 928 S4

Mine is an 88 cant imagine its different, thereis a plastic tank on the rhs of the trans that has a screw off lid, you will need the car on stands or a hoist level and with the oil at opperating temp you will also need a bottle pump or some type of plunger to fill it the engine must be running and add the fluid slowly allow time for it to be taken into the trans repeat until at the mark and stays there
