The manual for my '07 M6 says to charge the battery using the posts under the hood. I have located the "+" post but it doesn't look like what I am use to seeing. Where should I connect the positive and negative cables so I can put a trikle charge on my car. I have had it stored over the winter, only starting it once, and things are now dead. Thanks

Hi,
That terminal is up front because the battery is in the trunk and less accessible. You can hook the charger up positive to the underhood post you mentioned. If there is no negative post shown in the manual, keep in mind that the whole chassis and engine is grounded. Any exposed metal parts should work - a shock tower bolt for example.

You can hook the charger directly to the battery in the trunk too, but the above should work just fine.

On the newer model cars they have started putting the battery under a myriad of plastic covers to make the engine compartment look cleaner. The "+" post that you have found is directly connect to the positive terminal on the battery. Put the positive cable on that post and then the negative on a bare bolt that is connected to the frame of the car, I would use the one on the sway bar if possible.

How do I charge the battery

Just be careful NOT To burn out the computer brain when charging. Remove the negative cord from the battery post. Set the Positive charge line on the PLUS post and Negative on the Minus Post. Do not have a key in the ignition either.

Where is the location of the battery posts under the hood for 2004 lincoln ls

There are no jump points under the hood for this car. You will need to access the battery, which is in the trunk, under the carpet right next to the spare tire

Battery for 07 CTS is dead. Now I can't take key out of ignition. What shall I do?

you have to replace the battery to get the key out or use a booster pack under the hood. there is a red and black jumper post under the hood you can hook a booster pack to and then once that is hooked up you can remove the key from the ignition

Where is the post under the hood of a 1991 BMW 535i that I can use to charge the battery?

Did somebody tell you there was a post under there? They are talking about the battery post. If your battery has side mount terminals, it has no posts, and the side mounts are a nightmare to charge up. But it can be done. Is the battery getting weak? Did you check the water? Check the electrolytic stuff to see if it is worth charging. One of those floaty ball things. Walmart will check it for you for free, they like selling batteries. Your alternator should be charging the battery, unless it has been sitting a while. Hope this helps.

Car won't start, how do i charge the battery? for a 2006 chevy cobalt

I would recommend hooking the charger up right to the battery which is located in the trunk under the carpet.
You can hook up the charger under the hood to the remote jumper postivie post and to any ground. If I remember correctly there is a strut bolt right next to the remote positive post.
Either way will work but I'd go with the first one.
