I have a 2008 BMW X3 that has an annoying crackeling noise from the radio. It doesn't happen with the CD player only the radio. It is always present but most notable when a softer song is playing. When I have it programed to KBCO a FM station with the largest signal in Colorado it sounds like an AM station. They checked the antenna and there was no problem. The dealership has heard it and said nothing is coming up on the computer and to just live with it until it gets worse.This is really frusterating and very unpleasant to listen to. I had more confidence in both BMW and their mechanics.

If you're finding it difficult to service/repair your car, get one of those online manuals. You'll not have to wait for others to answer, or rely on mechanics and all. Plus i know a website that sells very cheap but very very good manuals online, without expiry i.e. for lifetime.

OK, long story but here it goes (hopefully the length will help with ... I hook the jumpstarter up to the battery, let it sit 1-2 minutes, then ... The AZ rep. tells me that my battery is at 9V and this is why my car .... Mein Auto: 2004 X3 2.5i ... If battery is original (2005) it is more than likely one cell has shorted out. Z4 starter motor and related problems.

I could not start my Z this morning after not driving it for the past 4 days because of the weather. All lights come on the dash including the head lights but it won't crank. ... sounds like a grounding problem. need to check if any after market stuff was added first

carry out a battery reset and this is done by disconnecting the battery for 10 mins.

BMW's factory radios have a radio code which when the battery is removed, is required to have the code entered. If you see the word "Code" in the radio, then look in your manual for the radio code. If you don't have it, you will have to go to the dealer, present your registration and they should give you the code without charging you a fee. Suggest you call the dealer first to see what they need to give you the code.

call a BMW dealer and talk to either your salesman or parts. ask them if they can run your VIN to see if it is prewired for a CD changer (assuming you don't see the wiring in the rear compartment). all they will need is the last 7 digits of the VIN.

BMW does sell an IPOD controller, but i think DICE makes a better one. check them out here:
