Dash lights not working - 2001 Hyundai Accent GS. Could this be the dimmer switch or is there a fuse I should check?

dashboard lamps or bulbs in cluster may be burnt or bad dimmer switch.for the stop lights, check brake switch located behind brake pedal

The air cond and the lights would be on different circuits. Have you checked the fuses and see if they have power for those circuits ?

sounds like the backlights in the cluster may have burned out.
are there other dash lights near heat control or radio that still work?

check for bad brakelight switch on the brake pedal under the dash,but on the brake pedal rod,will be a switch that has a pluger that pops out when you apply the brakes,check to see if it's plugged in. other than that,just replace the entire switch,yhey do go bad often enough.

you might need to look at the wires on the back of the radio, there might be an inline fuse, also you best have a look at the main fuse panel in the car and see if the one for the radio and clock has blown

check the dimmer switch.

Drivers side kick panel(down by the hood latch) where your left foot is. There is also one under the hood by the drivers side strut tower. If nobody lost it there should even be a fuse puller in there. On the back of the fuse cover is a diagram that tells you which fuse is which.

Could be the dimmer control playing up ......
I have seen this happen before . Find the dimmer control knob remove and connect the wires together and see if they light up.

Check the wiring to the dimmer switch. Sounds like there is no power at the switch, so get a wiring diagram and trace it back toward the battery. There is either a short or open in the circuit path.

there are a couple of diodes under the hood that need changing at about 12 dollars each.should solve your problem
