I was driving my 2003 Santa fe I made a turn and herd a noise like if my power sterling was low then I got a red light I then saw little smoke from under the hood then when I made my next turn I felt that I had lost my power steering I can't see anything cause it's dark outside but wondering what could it be

you have speed sensors and tone wheels on all the axles so I'm thinking that you have some cracked tone wheels on the axles that set codes in the PCM

it has to do with the injection system. Might be something stupid like a manifold intake gasket leak (commonly known as cylinder 4 misfire problem) or it could be a part of the system like : spark plugs, wiring, fuel injector, throttle position sensor. A low cost solution worth trying is a kleen flow injection system cleaner. It will remove a lot of carbon and see if it helps...

If you only have two headlights ,the low beam part of light is out

Have the steering checked to find
out if it is leaking

Only use the correct fluid in your
owners manual

No manual stop by a dealer and ask the techs

Hydraulic lifter may have failed. You will have to remove the valve cover and inspect.

the air conditioning changes your idle speed when the compressor cycles on and in some vehicles will cause the problem you have.
it is the design and there is nothing you can do about it

try resetting adaptive values to see if that helps. remove both battery cable terminals and hold them together for about 30 seconds to discharge all power. reconnect and drive.

your senario revolves aroud the milage on your vehicle.should it be a high milage we can call it common.if you did replace the belts then the next step will be is to see hou deep the belt inbeds in to the pulleys.if to deep then it will slip and make a noise

chances are the belt is getting so wet its slipping on the pulley causing you to lose power assist temporarily
