I was driving my 2003 Santa fe I made a turn and herd a noise like if my power sterling was low then I got a red light I then saw little smoke from under the hood then when I made my next turn I felt that I had lost my power steering I can't see anything cause it's dark outside but wondering what could it be

it has to do with the injection system. Might be something stupid like a manifold intake gasket leak (commonly known as cylinder 4 misfire problem) or it could be a part of the system like : spark plugs, wiring, fuel injector, throttle position sensor. A low cost solution worth trying is a kleen flow injection system cleaner. It will remove a lot of carbon and see if it helps...
