Jaguar stalls 1997 XK-8, stalls when you press accelarator to the floor or attempt to accelerate quickly. Engine does not die, just starts to buck and cut out.

Security is set. Could be one problem. Fuel system can do this, but rarely. Takes a scanner to see where to look first.

There is a sensor in your gas pedal that could have gone bad. An employee at O'rielley had told me there could be a recall on this part so contact a dealer.

The ac compressor does put an additional load on the engine.
Any minor problem with performance can be amplified with the ac on.
I would check fuel pressure and look at the idle air control valve.
Also check the computer for trouble codes.
Both 6 and 8 cyl engines use a cap rotor and wires arrangement, so it wouldn't hurt to make sure those components as well as the spark plugs are in good working order.
The bucking on the road and stalling at stops could be two different issues.

sounds like your fuel pump is dying.

Trunk, right side , remove trunk floor to expose spare tire then pull panel that covers battery

there is a wiring harness that goes over the trans. bellhousing that has a tendacy
to short internally, wiggle the wiring harness and see what happens. not a for sure fix ,but hope it helps.

Try replacing the Oxygen Sensors... I had the same problem and replaced my Oxygen Sensors and I haven't had any problems since.
