Here are the fuses. It looks like it is a feature of the Body Control Module, which is normal. Try this

you may need to replace your dimmer switch.but if your tail
Lights don't work. It is a fuse.

there must be a short in the wire for your tail lights.

I believe a Maxima has a fuse box under the hood and another one on or under the dash or glove box. You'll have to consult owners manual or fuse box cover for a list of all components on each circut.
