As a first course of action please check if you have fuel flow. Try to turn on the ignition but don't crank it. While turned on, remove the bolt on the fuel rail and observe if there will be fuel flow. If there's none, replace the fuel pump. If there is, no need for replacement.
Be sure that the battery and starter is in good condition for if one of them is faulty, there won't be enough power to kick the flywheel. Make sure that you have a good spark too. If there's no spark on the plug wires then you will need to replace the coil pack for if the coil pack is faulty it tends not to give current to the plugs.

It sounds like your on the right track, the next step is to do a compression test to verify good rings in that particular cylinder.
