My renault master will not start it fires for about 2 seconds but will not run it was running fine when i stopped it went to start it next day and would not start

As a first course of action please check if you have fuel flow. Try to turn on the ignition but don't crank it. While turned on, remove the bolt on the fuel rail and observe if there will be fuel flow. If there's none, replace the fuel pump. If there is, no need for replacement.

Be sure that the battery and starter is in good condition for if one of them is faulty, there won't be enough power to kick the flywheel. Make sure that you have a good spark too. If there's no spark on the plug wires then you will need to replace the coil pack for if the coil pack is faulty it tends not to give current to the plugs.

    My Renault Master has a diesel 2.4ltr motor.

    Thanks for the added information. It can be a bad fuel pump and please do replace the glow plugs. If the glow plugs are not working the engine will not heat up before start up. One good reason why it won't start.

Renault trafic wont start...engine warning light flashing
The light and the word stop should be sending you a clear message . The engine hard starting and sluggish is also sending a message and if you do not heed the message and have the fault codes read and the problem fixed then the next message may be replace the engine or gear box . The light is there --not to be an annoyance ---but to inform you that something drastic is going wrong and it needs urgent attention.

Car won't start not the battery
Test the neutral safety switch but doing the following steps.

1)foot on brake
2)turn key to on position
3)shift lever to neutral (N)
4)start the engine
5)shift the lever to Park (P)

If the engine can start at N and not at park then it's the neutral safety switch.

First run a code check, see what you find. Second, you can do individual component testing with a decent volt/ohmeter to pinpoint problem. (instructions for tests in any decent manual)
Just off-hand, most common failure with similar symptoms to yours is crank position sensor.

The crankshaft position sensor was seriously problematic in those old jeeps. It's located towards the top of the bell housing slightly to the driver's side I think.
