There are cables that run the seat up down forward and back. It sounds like the cable has broke for the foward or back adjustment. They are hard to get to I know unless the seat is removed to check
The limited edition brings memory setting for mirrors and seats, it recognizes which key are you putting in the ignition and puts the saved setting accordingly to that driver's key. That is the reason your seat keeps moving. You need to reprogram the seat position for that key. Good luck
your seat has 3 motors in it.if you hear themotor energize then you probably got a dime stuck in the track.lol. if not the check the seat relay or chech for power to the driver seat
I had the same problem and had to kinda figure it out on my own. I have a 98 grand cherokee and I think they should be the same. Inside the drivers door panel there are 3 buttons... a number 1 and number 2 and a SET button. Hold down the set button for a couple seconds then release. Then adjust your settings on your seat and mirrors to what you want...Then press # 1. If you have another person that will be driving the car do the same and press number 2...
The thing is...........There are 2 key chain things issued with each car...One will be the number 1 driver, the other one is the number 2 driver...So...I would program the number 1 driver first and see which key chain thing works...then you will know the other one will be for the number 2 driver.
Hope that made sense...It is a great feature once you finally figure it out. Sheri
seats are just bolted in by 4 bolts usually 14or 15mm take out the seats the one seat that doesn t make any noise is the motor the second seat that you hear making noise should be the link check connections first though it could be aconnection probelm/ Please rate my response thank you very much
Look under the seat while using the switch.
Put your finger on the motor and see if the noise .
I beleive the motor comes complete as an assembly.
The seat would have to come out to replace.
