The Radio on my 2006 Range Rover and the radio stopped working. The screen still displays Land Rover and the light on the on/off switch flashes. Any Idea what is wrong or how I can fix it?

    radio/nav. will not come on light in knob is flashing and screen just shows range roverr on it how can i fix this?

Did you happen to have battery die or was it disconnected? From your description it sounds like the radio locked up (security lock up/ant theft radio) If that's the case you need to enter the 4 digit radio code into it to activate it. Code should be in owners packet (small cardboard/ credit card size). If not you need to contact Rover Dealer & provide your VIN#

I have a 2006 hse, the radio keeps turning it self on and off, if I park it for a few days the battery goes dead, what is causing this? Last time I had to get jumped and now my key fob does not work either, can someone help me figure out this ghost in the machine?

Sounds like your anti-theft is locked, if you do not know the code you can check with the dealer all he needs is the vin

The rev counter indicates 500 revs on tick over
If you have the correct 4 digit code, you should be able to input it right in. After 3 unsuccessful attempts i will lock out. Push the BND button and hold until radio says code in.

2 ways to get the correct code
1. Giving your VIN# to the land rover dealer in exchange for the radio.
2. If that code doesn't work, you will need to have the radio pulled and provide them with the serial # to the radio and provide that to the dealer.

Radio display
If the radio is of the newer LCD variety and most of them are of this type the reason would be because behind the display are usually 3 small lamps /light bulbs used to backlight the display and they are probably all burnt out and need to be replaced. This job cannot be done by most people and best repaired by an electronic technician with a soldering tool.

There is a problem inside the radio and a specialist needs to strip and repair if possible.Check with your dealer if they know someone to do this.
